Led by Dr Adrija Datta, Birmingham IVF & Fertility combines decades of experience with the latest advances in reproductive medicine to help individuals and couples achieve their dream of parenthood.
Dr Datta is the Founder of Birmingham IVF & Fertility.
He has 30 years of experience as Gynaecologist and over 18 years in the field of Assisted Reproduction (Fertility treatment).
Dr. Datta has a special expertise in treating couple in challenging conditions and is one of the world’s leading advocates of Mild Approaches in IVF treatment to try to reduce the treatment burden and cost. Over the last 10 years, he has dealt with women over the age of 40 and women with premature ovarian insufficiency. Where possible, he offers women a chance to have a baby with their own eggs before considering donor egg. He strives to provide the emotional support couples need during their challenging fertility journey.
Dr Datta believes in the view that pregnancy rate cannot be the only yardstick of success in an IVF treatment; rather, it requires a holistic approach to deliver an efficient service that is safer for the mother and baby, and more affordable at the same time. He tries his best to give emotional supports needed for couples going through their difficult fertility journey.
Dr Datta is one of the world’s foremost authorities on gentle (mild) stimulation IVF. His landmark systematic review and meta-analysis of randomised controlled trials — published in one of the top journals in this field, Human Reproduction Update (2021) demonstrated no difference in the pregnancy outcomes between Mild and Conventional IVF across all patient populations. His various publications provided a definitive evidence base for ISMAAR’s landmark recommendation that “Mild ovarian stimulation could replace conventional stimulation, thus making IVF safer and more accessible worldwide”.
Dr Datta is a leading global authority on gamete stimulation IVF. He was instrumental in the development of IVF in India and has helped establish some of the country’s leading fertility centres.
With more than 30 years of experience, he has guided thousands of individuals and couples on their fertility journey with compassion, precision and the highest standards of care.
